My previous project in M.Sc nanotechnology was about image processing. In Physics Department, we made sensors by tapering technique. As my curious manner I had an idea that the system could be automatized, so I simulated the system by Catia, Proteus and etc., it was accepted with PROF. DR. SULAIMAN WADI HARUN visit and I got optical part to work on. I designed an optical system with limited instruments. Here I had pxr 800 board from Imagenation and a ccd camera. I had to process the diameter as the fiber being tapered (C++ codes). My primary results were like below. single mode optical fiber initial diameter is 125 micrometer (without jacket/coating).
